What is Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja?
This sacred puja, also known as Sataisa Puja, is performed for babies born under specific Nakshatras:
Ashvani, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Moola, and Revati – collectively known as Gand Mool Nakshatras.
According to Vedic astrology, these Nakshatras can carry inauspicious effects if not pacified early.
The puja neutralizes these planetary doshas and ensures good health, protection, and long-term wellbeing of the baby and family.
When is this Puja Performed?
- On the 27th day after the baby’s birth, falling on the same Nakshatra as the child's birth
- It can also be performed later, especially if any issues are observed in the child’s health, development, or planetary positioning
Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja Procedure (Performed Remotely by Pandit)
The entire puja is conducted remotely by a trained Hindi-speaking North Indian Pandit at a Vedic center. Your child’s name, gotra, and birth details are included in the Sankalpa.
Rituals Include:
- Gauri Ganesh Puja – For removing obstacles and blessing the ritual
- Nakshatra Worship – Special focus on pacifying the child’s birth Nakshatra and all 27 constellations
- Abhishek (Sacred Bath) – Performed with 27 tree leaves and 27 glasses of water for the baby and parents
- Havan (Fire Ritual) – A small havan to purify and remove doshic influences
- Brahmin Daan or Feeding – Donation or food given to Brahmins as per tradition
